This kitchen is proof that sometimes a subtle change can result in a dramatic transformation. We changed the orientation of the peninsula to better accommodate the flow and usability of the kitchen. We also introduced a more open feel by adding an opening into an interior load-bearing wall that opened up into the front dining room. Additionally, the small 5 x 5 room that previously served as a utility/laundry room was eliminated in lieu of a wet bar. The cabinetry and trim detail coordinated well with the clean, sleek lines of the Craftsman era that is prevalent in the rest of the house.
